PLDM was founded in 1920 and originally manufactured tires for aviation. They developed a unique industrial process vulcanizing rubber and canvas, and quickly became the key supplier of most European airline fleets.
The Second World War left the aviation industry in ruins. In 1947, with their experience, the company opened a plant in Cheruy Bridge in Isère and started producing shoes using the same principles learned from the airline industry. These shoes are proving even stronger than the tires while combining practicality and comfort.
The functionality and strength of the company’s original boots become so evident that the French Foreign Legion adopted it for their troops.
Even today, their authentic design, clean lines and durability are appreciated by adventurers worldwide.
